The surveillance team lost Raymond Wick for nine hours on a Tuesday, and Siobhan understood, standing in the incident room while Reyes worked through the details of exactly how a man they’d only just managed to properly locate three days earlier had slipped a professionally mounted watch without anyone noticing until well after the fact, that nine hours was very possibly enough time for everything the last two months had carefully built to come apart at once.
